Meet the Team
Kylie Moore
Speech-Language Pathologist
MS, CCC-SLP, TSSLD
Welcome! My name is Kylie, and I am a neurodiversity-affirming speech-language pathologist based in NYC. I specialize in emerging communication, augmentative and alternative communication (AAC), gestalt language processing, and play-based therapy approaches.
My highest priority is building a positive, trusting, and supportive relationship with your child and family. I value connection over compliance and believe that children thrive when they feel secure and understood. My play-based, family-centered approach fosters genuine connections and supports meaningful, positive change for both your child and your family.
Before transitioning to private practice, I worked at two highly specialized private schools in Manhattan, supporting children ages 5-12 with autism, brain injury, and neurodevelopmental disabilities. I also have experience in the NYC public school system and the Early Intervention Program, where I provided services to children from toddlers to teenagers with various diagnoses, including apraxia, articulation and phonological processing disorders, expressive-receptive language disorders, motor speech disorders, and pragmatic language disorders.
I am trained in lite, mid, and high-tech AAC systems, including PRC-Saltillo, Tobii Dynavox, AssistiveWare, and AbleNet products, and offer comprehensive evaluations for insurance funding for AAC devices. My passion lies in the Natural Language Acquisition approach for gestalt language processors, and I also have expertise in implementing DIR Floortime, an evidence-based method that enhances self-regulation, engagement, communication, and social problem-solving through the power of human connection and play.
Katie Blackwood
Occupational Therapist
MOT, OTR/L
My name is Katie Blackwood, and I am a pediatric Occupational Therapist in NYC. I graduated from Quinnipiac University in the Entry-Level Master of Occupational Therapy program. While at Quinnipiac University, I received extensive training in sensory progressing and integration theories, which outline and guide my evidence-based practice. Additionally, I completed a graduate capstone in Occupational Therapy Executive Functioning Interventions, which was accepted to present at the American Occupational Therapy Association conference.
I started my career as a school-based Occupational Therapist working for a private school for children with autism spectrum disorder between the ages of 5-12. I additionally have experience with home-based services, where I treat pediatrics in the natural context of their home. My services focus on making meaningful connections with my clients (and their families) through holistic and natural contexts. Using the principles of just-right challenge, I meet the child at their level while skillfully utilizing their strengths to create achievements in the areas with greater needs.
I am proficient in administering the Peabody Developmental Motor Scales Second Edition (PDMS-2), Bruininks-Oseretsky Test of Motor Proficiency Second Edition (BOT-2), Beery-Buktencia Developmental Test of Visual-Motor Integration, Handwriting Without Tears Screener of Handwriting Proficiency, and Sensory Profile-2. I have training in Zones of Regulation and Handwriting without Tears. I am currently completing training in the Learn, Play, Thrive programs.
